Saymora is an offline-first language-learning app, and it is built to keep your data on your device. We do not run ads, we do not sell data, and we do not track your behavior across other apps or websites. This policy explains the small amount of information the app does handle so you can learn with confidence.
2. Information We Collect
Because Saymora works offline, most of what the app knows about you never leaves your phone. The limited data involved includes:
- Sign in with Apple identity: When you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides a private identifier and, if you allow it, your name and a relay email. We use this only to associate your account and to sync purchases where applicable.
- Learning progress: Your decks explored, cards learned, review schedule, quiz results, and level progress are stored locally on your device.
- App preferences: Settings such as your active course, downloaded courses, and light/dark theme choice.
- Diagnostic data: If you opt in, anonymous crash logs and performance metrics that help us fix bugs. This never includes your personal learning content.
3. How We Use Your Data
The information above is used only to make the app work and to improve it:
- Tracking which cards you've explored and scheduling spaced-repetition reviews at the right time.
- Remembering your active course and downloaded content so lessons load instantly and offline.
- Restoring your account and any purchases when you reinstall or move to a new device.
- Diagnosing crashes and improving app stability and course quality.
4. Course Content & Offline Downloads
Courses are downloaded once and then stored on your device so they work fully offline. When you download or update a course, our servers receive a request for that content but do not receive your learning progress. You can remove a downloaded course or use "Repair course download" at any time from Settings.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We value your privacy and do not sell your personal information. Data may only be shared in these limited cases:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and any in-app purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.
- Compliance: When required by valid legal process or applicable law.
- Anonymized aggregates: De-identified, aggregated statistics that help us understand which courses and levels are most helpful.
6. Data Protection & Security
Learning data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security. Any data transmitted to our servers, such as course downloads, is encrypted in transit using TLS. While we work hard to safeguard information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
7. Your Choices & Deletion Rights
You stay in control of your data. Within the app you can:
- Sign out of your Apple account at any time.
- Remove downloaded courses to free up space.
- Reset your learning progress, which clears the data stored on your device.
- Request deletion of any account information we hold by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
Saymora is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will remove it.
